Flax slices

Ingredients

100 g butter
150 g sugar
250 g flour
100 g walnuts
3 eggs
1 sachet baking powder
1 kg vanilla sugar
a little cream or milk
150 g cranberry jam
cinnamon, clove powder, lemon peel

Preparation

    .

  • Mix the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and mix until the mixture becomes creamy.
  • Combine the remaining ingredients, add them to the butter, sugar and egg mixture and knead together.

  • Let the dough rest for about half an hour.
  • Pour three quarters of the dough into a hinged mould and spread with cranberry jam. – Fill the remaining dough into a piping bag with a perforated nozzle and spread it over the cranberries to form a lattice.
  • Once the cake has cooled, sprinkle with icing sugar, if desired.
  • The cake should be covered with a layer of lingonberries.
