Flax slices
Ingredients
100 g butter
150 g sugar
250 g flour
100 g walnuts
3 eggs
1 sachet baking powder
1 kg vanilla sugar
a little cream or milk
150 g cranberry jam
cinnamon, clove powder, lemon peel
Preparation

- Mix the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and mix until the mixture becomes creamy. Combine the remaining ingredients, add them to the butter, sugar and egg mixture and knead together.
- Let the dough rest for about half an hour.
- Pour three quarters of the dough into a hinged mould and spread with cranberry jam. – Fill the remaining dough into a piping bag with a perforated nozzle and spread it over the cranberries to form a lattice.
- Once the cake has cooled, sprinkle with icing sugar, if desired.

The cake should be covered with a layer of lingonberries.
