Our commitment to a better future
Sustainability at the Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen
At Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen, we place great importance on responsible environmental stewardship and embrace sustainability in all aspects of our operations. We take pride in offering you a vacation experience that harmonizes with nature—without compromising on comfort and indulgence.
Our Sustainability Certification
GreenSign Hotel
The GreenSign Hotel certification is a recognized sustainability seal for hotels in Europe, awarded by the GreenSign Institute. It evaluates the sustainable management of accommodation establishments across the dimensions of ecology, economy, and social responsibility. At the beginning of 2025, our Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen was proudly awarded this certification, which is recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
The certification process includes over 130 criteria divided into ten core areas, including management & communication, environment (energy, water, waste), biodiversity & cultural heritage, purchasing, regionality & mobility, quality management & sustainable development, social responsibility, and economic responsibility.
OUR ROOTS & OUR FUTURE
Whoever grows up here learns the value of nature early on. We come from a farm—grounded in traditions, with deep respect for our surroundings. Then as now, it’s about using our resources mindfully and offering our guests the very best of our homeland. It’s the way our parents taught us, the way we pass it on to our children, and the way they will one day pass it on to theirs.
Regional Delights – Conscious Living
Here, food doesn’t travel halfway around the world. Many ingredients come straight from our garden or our own farm. What we don’t grow ourselves, we source from small local businesses—people who share our values and work with us towards a sustainable future.
Zero Waste – Small Steps, Big Impact
Our breakfast buffet is completely free of packaging materials. No mini plastic portions, no unnecessary waste. We rely on reusable, natural materials—and 100% waste separation.
Green Energy – For a Sustainable Future
Our Green Energy Garage features three charging stations for electric cars—powered by the sun. With photovoltaic systems and battery storage, we use energy efficiently and responsibly.
Naturally Pure – Water at Its Best
Our indoor and outdoor pools rely on saltwater treatment instead of chlorine—for a gentle, natural swimming experience. Grander water flows throughout the entire house, providing revitalizing drinking water of the highest quality.
Building with Responsibility
Our house is deeply rooted in the region—and you can see it. Locally sourced wood from sustainable forestry shapes our spaces. It breathes, it scents, it lives.
Natural Care That Feels Good
Our certified natural cosmetics from Art of Care bring sustainability to the bathroom—free from unnecessary additives, yet rich in valuable ingredients.
Our Journey Continues
Sustainability is not a goal—it’s a continuous process. We aim to strengthen local cycles, operate even more resource-efficiently, and further reduce our ecological footprint. Step by step. For us. For you. For a future in harmony with nature.

SUSTAINABILITY AT NATUR & AKTIV HOTEL ROGEN
The 5 Pillars
Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen combines authenticity with a warm, family-like atmosphere. Through targeted measures for energy efficiency and waste reduction, we continuously minimize our ecological footprint. When sourcing products, we prioritize resource-saving and sustainable solutions. Rooted in our traditions, we actively contribute to a future-oriented and environmentally conscious way of life.
Our entire hotel is designed with naturalness and sustainability in mind. For years, we have relied on natural, minimally treated building materials to create an authentic and healthy environment. This philosophy is also reflected in our guest offerings—from our cuisine to immersive nature experiences. Our goal is to make the beauty of the landscape and the traditional way of life in our region tangible. To us, naturalness also means introducing guests to hidden gems off the beaten path—special places that make nature experiences truly unforgettable.
We love what we do—and you can feel it! In our family-run hotel, we cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that both guests and employees feel at home. A positive work environment and a sense of camaraderie are second nature to us—because only together can we create unforgettable experiences.
We continuously optimize and reduce our energy consumption through targeted measures. We have already implemented numerous solutions, including an efficient cooling system and smart control technologies. We consciously rely on renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and solar power, while our heating system is sustainably powered by a wood chip heating plant. In this way, we conserve resources and actively contribute to environmental protection.
Sustainability is our top priority—that’s why we focus on consistent waste reduction. Wherever possible, we choose minimally packaged products to cut down on waste. Everything that remains is carefully sorted and recycled through the local waste management system. Our guiding principle: “Waste as little as possible, reuse as much as possible!”
Our purchasing follows the principles of efficiency and sustainability. By prioritizing bulk packaging and bundling deliveries, we reduce unnecessary transport and conserve valuable resources. Sourcing from local producers not only minimizes environmental impact through shorter supply chains but also strengthens the regional economy—an important step on our path toward greater sustainability.
