Mountain hike to the Wilde Kreuzspitze

Further and further, higher and higher

Do you know the indescribable feeling that pervades you on a three-thousand-metre peak? If not, you can experience it during your holiday in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region. During our hiking weeks, we climb one of the highest peaks in our holiday region together. If you don’t want to wait, we have a tip for you:

Mountain hike to the Wilde Kreuzspitze (3,132 metres).
(total walking time 7 hours)

We set off from Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen by car towards Vals. The hike starts at the Fane Alm car park (1,700 m above sea level) and leads via the idyllic alpine village of Fane Alm, along trail no. 17 to the Schrammenschlucht gorge, to the Labesebenalm and via trail no. 18 to the Wilden See lake. It is definitely worth taking a short break to admire the impressive mountain lake with all its shades of blue.

Continue over the Rauhtaljoch until you reach the summit. You have made it! Here, at an altitude of over 3,000 metres, you suddenly feel very small and everything becomes very easy. And, as you will see, the view of the South Tyrolean mountains is simply extraordinary.

The return route is the same as the outward journey, but you can also descend to the left through the Rauhtal valley along the Pfunderer Höhenweg path to the Brixner Hütter and the Fane alpine pasture.

This hike is only suitable for experienced hikers. For further hiking tips, our team at the reception of Natur & Aktiv Hotel Rogen will always be happy to help you.
